"Canadian military Submariners are perhaps some of the rarest and least wholly understood of all the Tudor milsubs" Isaac Wingold- Hodinkee

Craft & Tailored was recently featured in Hodinkee’s Bring a Loupe column. Hodinkee highlighted a very rare and interesting Royal Canadian Navy Tudor Submariner ref. 94010 These specific 9401/0’s possess a dial that is very similar to matte Tudor 9401/0’s with the standard dial meaning the dial maintains the typical triangular lume plot at 12, rectangular plots at the “3-6-9” o’clock positions and circular lume plots for the other hour markers, The exciting thing is that these specific R.C.N Tudor 9401/0’s are fitted with “snowflake” handsets

“Canadian military Submariners are perhaps some of the rarest and least wholly understood of all the Tudor milsubs, given that relevant documentation and service ledgers are practically non-existent. Despite this, the community of military issued watch collectors is knowledgeable, tight-knit, and highly opinionated, offering a wealth of information to those interested. Should this piece do it for you, I’d highly recommend speaking with a military watch expert, who could help provide some more context regarding what exactly this piece got up to in its day.” Read the full write up at Hodinkee.com and be sure to check out this interesting and rare 1978 Royal Canadian Navy Tudor Submariner by clicking the links!
